Eric Martinez is a dedicated educator and school leader with over eight years of experience in the Dallas Independent School District. As a first-generation college graduate and Mexican immigrant, Mr. Martinez has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that education can present. His background drives his passion for fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments where all students, regardless of their background, have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Mr. Martinez is a graduate of Pomona College, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Texas at Dallas, where he obtained his Master of Educational Leadership.

Mr. Martinez attended Dr. Barbara Jordan Elementary, H.W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy for middle school, and graduated from St. Mark's School of Texas. His experience at St. Mark's School of Texas exposed Mr. Martinez to the value of creating a space for young men to thrive, free from the pressures often associated with co-ed environments. An all-boys environment exposed him to the importance of camaraderie, personal development, and a supportive school culture, which continues to shape his leadership philosophy today.

Building on these early experiences, Mr. Martinez has cultivated a diverse and impactful career in education, holding various roles that have enriched his leadership capabilities. He began his career as a teacher at Seagoville Middle School, where he developed a passion for student growth and academic achievement. He later served as Lead Instructional Teacher, mentoring colleagues, and driving improvements in classroom instruction and student engagement. Mr. Martinez’s leadership continued to expand when he joined Sunset High School, where he played key roles as Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. In these positions, he helped foster academic excellence, streamline operational efficiency, and cultivate a positive, inclusive school culture.

Mr. Martinez is committed to creating an environment that is not only academically rigorous but also nurturing and inclusive. Drawing on his experiences, he aims to build a school where every student feels valued and supported. Mr. Martinez believes that education is a transformative force, and he is determined to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed, grow, and thrive—just as he did in his own educational journey.
